eRoom User Group

eRug Logo largeOpenVine Solutions is proud to sponsor a new eRoom User Group, whose purpose is to bring together eRoom users in the United States and abroad to share, discuss, and learn about EMC's eRoom software.  With more than 4000 companies and an estimated 7 million users worldwide using eRoom as a mission critical application, there is widespread interest in such a group.

A User-driven initiative

In May 2007 at the EMC World Conference in Orlando, Florida, eRoom users connected informally during many of the collaboration workshops and talks.  Wyeth Pharmaceuticals took the initiative to speak with other companies about their interest in starting an eRoom user group.  With 25+ companies showing an interest, that was enough to begin the process. OpenVine, also in attendance, offered to help coordinate the effort. The current working name of the group is simple: the eRoom User Group (eRug).  We will be asking for input for other names (or to keep this one) in the near future.

Group Structure

The structure for eRug includes the following:

  • There will be quarterly web conference meetings, 90 minutes in duration, with time for two presentations on eRoom best practices and open discussions.  Presentations will be given by member organizations on a volunteer basis.

  • An ongoing Blog will be provided on OpenVine's site to summarize meeting presentations and to continue the discussions that arise.

  • Membership in the group is free, and is open to any company with eRoom version 7.x or later.  There will not be any discussions around topics that are specific to earlier versions of eRoom.  Companies can sign up for the group on OpenVine's website.

  • Registrations for quarterly meetings is required and a link will provided with the e-mail invitation

  • Meetings will be held around the first month of each quarter (Jan, Apr, Jul, Oct).

  • Registration is required, once for membership in the group, and then for each meeting you would like to attend:
